In today’s space cramped times when most people are living in apartments and having a full fledged garden is not a luxury that everyone can have, balcony gardens as an alternative are becoming extremely popular.

A balcony garden need not be extensive or ostentatious. Even a few potted plants here and there, a small patch of grass and hanging pots can do the trick. The idea really is to organize and utilize the space that you have. The door leading on to the balcony is important because space has to be allowed for opening or closing. Balcony door designs work better if they are sliding. This saves space and allows for maximization of what is available. Casement doors on the other hand take more space and may not be the best option.

While this is subject to the space available, the garden in the picture is a good reference of how a balcony garden can add to the beauty of your home. In a balcony this size, as mentioned, casement doors might not work but a more conducive door design from a large number of balcony door designs can be chosen.
